The way author Latoya Garrett writes about the details of Lisa and Marcus’ wedding day* made me feel like I was there the characters’ dialogue and the descriptive settings are so very realistic. I undoubtedly enjoyed reading this short story.
Every day was getting more difficult to abstain. They honor their G-dly beliefs that abstaining before marriage is key to their relationship, although Lisa admits one night they “were halfway into watching “The Preacher’s Wife” before the smooching started.
In this sequel to Attitude of Gratitude: A Thanksgiving Short Story, Lisa (who now has a home bakery business) and Marcus (who is still a policeman) are preparing for their wedding, and a surprise shows up for Lisa that caught me off guard, but is nice, nevertheless.
